Sungai Jawi
Sungai Jawi is a town and district capital of South Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia. Valdor, Sungai Bakap and Perkampungan Jawi are using the poscode of Sungai Jawi.
Sungai Jawi is a town situated at the middle of Sungai Bakap and Nibong Tebal. The town is along the Malaysia Federal Route 1, the Butterworth-Ipoh trunk road. It is just 110 kilometres from Ipoh and just 30 kilometres from Butterworth. From the North South Expressway, take the exit of Jawi. After the toll turn right, Sungai Jawi will be reached. A New town cafe will also seen in Sungai Jawi on the right.
No one can deny that the main road of Sungai Jawi nowadays are the third busiest road in Penang. It is busy after the trunk road near Bukit Mertajam only . In Butterworth trunk road, there is no much vehicles at the Alor Setar old road there. The heavy traffics are situated in Jalan Raja Uda only. People can always use the Sungai Petani trunk road to Perai Megamall and Sunway Carnival Mall without using the Butterworth Highway which is the first seaside highway completed in Malaysia.
Even in Penang City, there is also no much heavy traffics happening on the Malaysia Federal Route No.6. after the Bayan Lepas Elevated highway completed. There is just a slightly massive jams seen at the Jalan Jelutong only.
An Econsave supermarket was built complete in Sungai Jawi. It is located in Taman Jawi Jaya. Sungai Jawi also has an old railway station. Nowadays, the railway station had become a historical place for the travelers.
Here is also no further to the Kedah state and Perak state. For example Serdang is a town which is popular with it's fried porridge near Sungai Jawi. The Sungai Jawi trunk road will be bringing the people to Serdang via the Bandar Baru Highway and Jalan Lubuk Buntar. The people here will travel half of the highway and half of the common road to Serdang.
The Bandar Baharu exit is located 13 kilometres from Sungai Jawi and Serdang town, Kedah, passing through the Penang-Kedah state border, not Perak. It is having the similarity distance. The toll rate to Serdang for private cars are RM 1.90.
Serdang is a district of Bandar Baharu and a highway town of the border of Penang and Perak. After the Bandar Baharu exit, the people of Penang will reach Perak and from the south, after it you will arrive Penang state. The Ipoh-George Town Line opened and showed an interchange of Bandar Baharu here. The toll of Bandar Baharu has 2 tickets lanes and 2 Touch n Go together with Smart TAG lanes.
