Sunera

Sunera is a North American IT risk company headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The company was formed in April 2005 by former KPMG Partners and other executives.[1] Sunera was acquired in 2014 by Cyber Risk Management, a company formed by Norwest Equity Partners, Halyard Capital, and former partners of Sunera. Sunera has eleven major office locations in the United States and one in Canada.

Sunera was originally founded as an IT Audit and Security firm by Peter Armstrong and Emmett Lange, former KPMG Partners. Initial services included IT controls testing, vulnerability assessments, Internal Audit, and Sarbanes-Oxley.[2] In early 2010, Sunera acquired Windward Invocation, a PeopleSoft consulting company, based in Tampa. Later in 2010, Sunera acquired 50% of Advanced Financial Services, an internal audit company based in South Florida.[3] Also in 2010, Sunera acquired the Dallas business AC Lordi and merged it with the existing Sunera Dallas office. In January 2014, Cyber Risk Management became the parent company of Sunera.

On February 6, 2015, Florida Governor Rick Scott announced the expansion of Sunera's Tampa headquarters. The expansion will result in a net increase of 41 jobs between 2015 and 2018.[4][5][6][7]
