Summit Professional Networks is a business-to-business (B2B) media and information company serving the insurance, investments, employee benefits, global mining and professional services markets. The company was formed in 2006 through acquisitions of media assets. Summit Professional Networks currently owns assets purchased from many media companies, including The National Underwriter Company, Thomson Media, Bloomberg, Adams Business Media, Wicks Business Information, Agent Media, and WiesnerMedia. The company publishes 16 magazines and 150 reference titles. It also operates 20 websites and hosts a dozen conferences.[1]

Summit employs over 300 employees working in ten different locations across the United States. The company is split up into four divisions: Media, Event, Reference, and Data. Summit Business Media is a privately owned company that exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011, as ownership was assumed by its major creditors, including EOS Partners and GE Capital.[2]

In February 2012 Summit named Steve Weitzner as the new president and CEO. Weitzer previously served as CEO of Ziff Davis Enterprise for four years before coming to Summit and has more than 30 years of experience in the B2B media industry.[3] In 2013, the name was changed from Summit Business Media to Summit Professional Networks.[4]

In 2015, Summit was acquired by ALM.[5]
