Sultanpur is a town and a nagar panchayat in Raisen district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Geography

Sultanpur is located at 23°09′N 77°56′E / 23.15°N 77.93°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 366 metres (1200 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Sultanpur had a population of 8716. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Sultanpur has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 63%, and female literacy is 50%. In Sultanpur, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age. Sultanpur is very popular due to connectivity with various small villages, There is a Mata Mandir in the outskirts of town.
There are two higher secondary school in sultanpur, including one government school. Recently few schools are doing well which are St. Mary convent school and prince convent school.
Girija Bal Mandir is the oldest private school of the Town.
