Sullivan South High School (commonly known as SSHS or Sullivan South) is a public high school(grades 9-12) located in Kingsport, Tennessee in Sullivan County. The school has a student body of approximately 1,000 students.
The principal is Greg Harvey.
The school had a 79% graduation rate in 2004, well short of the state goal of 90%. . The average ACT scores of students is a 21.6. 82.6% of students attended either a two-year or four-year university . It is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the TSSAA.
Curriculum
Sullivan South implements a block schedule with four 90-minute periods and 45 minute year long class a day. Students register for new classes each semester, allowing for 9 credits to be taken each academic year.

+Note: Sullivan South participates in the Jumpstart program with Northeast State Community College. This program allows seniors to take classes for both high school and college credit in the areas of English IV and Humanities/Psychology.
Sullivan South is also home to one of the most advanced theatre groups of the region, with more than 70% of students registering to participate in the school's various drama-oriented courses. Similarly, the school's music program has also garnered much praise, with an award winning instrumental music department, as well as an accomplished vocal music department.
Sullivan South also has an elite Air Force JROTC Program. Run by Cl. Williams.
