Sulkava is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the Southern Savonia region. The municipality has a population of 2,794 (30 November 2014)[2] and covers an area of 769.21 square kilometres (296.99 sq mi) of which 184.52 km2 (71.24 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 4.78 inhabitants per square kilometre (12.4/sq mi). The municipality is best known for the annual long distance rowing contest Sulkavan Suursoudut, around Partalansaari ("Partala Island") on Saimaa.

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
