Sulaiman al-Barouni
Sulaiman al-Barouni (Arabic: سليمان باشا الباروني, Sulīmān Bāsā al-Bārūnī) (1872–1940) was ruler (wāli) of Tripolitania and part of the resistance movement against the Italian military occupation of Libya from 1911 to 1916. He was a Berber, originally from the Nafusa region in western Libya. He was also a good novelist (considered in Libya as classic author) and the editor of an anti-Italian Berber nationalist newspaper. He was an adherent of the Ibadi form of Islam.[1]
