Sulaiman Sujak

Air Vice Marshal Dato Sulaiman Sujak (born 1934, Singapore)[1] was the first non-British Chief of Air Force, Malaysia (November 1, 1967 - December 31, 1976)

Sulaiman studied in Bartley and Victoria in Singapore. He was trained at the Malayan Air Training Corps (MATC).

In September, 1965, he joined the Royal Malaysian Air Force as a Squadron Leader. On 1 November 1967, he was promoted to Air Commodore and became the first Chief of Air Force. He had to deal with the communist insurgency and Indonesia's confrontation when he was appointed.

Sulaiman later became the Vice-Chairman of Malaysia Airlines.[2][3][4] [5]
