Suk Hyun-Jun (Hangul: 석현준, born 29 June 1991) is a South Korean footballer who plays as a striker for Setúbal.

Club career

AFC Ajax

After a trial-period, Suk was offered a one-year contract with Dutch Eredivisie side AFC Ajax,[1] which he signed on 1 January 2010. He became the first South Korean player to play for Ajax and the eighth to play in the Eredivisie. Suk made his debut in the first team barely a month later as a substitute in the 4–0 home win against Roda JC.

He scored his first Ajax' goal in a 2010–11 pre-season friendly win against Chelsea on 23 July 2010. Despite good performances in pre-season matches, he didn't get an opportunity to play in any official first team match during 2010–11 season. His contract at Ajax was therefore not renewed. He was thankful, however, for the years at Ajax, and is gratitude resulted in a tattoo of the club logo and the coat of arms of Amsterdam on his right arm.

FC Groningen

On 27 June 2011, Suk signed a two-year contract with FC Groningen, Groningen also has an option for another two years.[2]

CS Maritimo

On January 2013, Suk signed with C.S. Maritimo, and netted his first goal in his third match, in a 1–0 win against Sporting, which became the winning goal.[3]

Al-Ahli

On 11 July 2013, Suk signed with Al-Ahli club.

CD National

On 30 June 2014, Suk signed a four-year contract with C.D. Nacional.

Vitória de Setúbal

On 12 January 2015, Hyun-Jun was signed by another Portuguese side Vitória de Setúbal.

International career

His international career took off when he played for the Korean Republic U-20 team. He also took part in the 2010 AFC U-19 Championship qualification.[4] Suk made his senior national team debut on 7 September 2010 against Iran.
