Bronze 1936 Berlin Pole vault

Sueo Ōe (大江 季雄 Ōe Sueo, August 2, 1914 – December 24, 1941) was a Japanese athlete who competed mainly in the pole vault.

He competed for Japan in the 1936 Summer Olympics held in Berlin, Germany in the pole vault where he won the bronze medal after refusing to compete with his friend Shuhei Nishida for the silver. He later joined the Imperial Japanese Army during the time of World War II and was killed in action during the Battle of Wake Island.
