Sue Golding (also known as Johnny Golding) is an American philosopher. She is Professor of Fine Art and Philosophy and Director of the International Centre for Fine Art Research (CFAR) at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD). She was previously Director of the Institute for the Converging Arts and Sciences (ICAS) at the University of Greenwich and Head of Theory at the Jan van Eyck Akademie in Maastricht (1998-2003).[1]
Personal life and work
Born in New York, Golding lived in Toronto where she was the President of the Board of Directors [2][3] of the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre from 1983 to 1995.[4][5] She was a regular contributor to The Body Politic.[6]
Golding writes under the pen names Johnny Golding and Johnny de Philo.[7] She has published several books including Gramsci's Democratic Theory and The Eight Technologies of Otherness. [8] Her current work investigates what she calls fractal philosophy. She produces public lectures presented in the form of sound/image installations, sometimes in collaboration with Stephen Kennedy.[9]
