Clout version
In 1978, the song became a big hit for the South African band Clout, reaching #2 in the UK charts in August and achieving sales of 500,000 copies.[2] It fared even better in the rest of Europe where it reached #1 in Germany, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland as well as Australia and New Zealand. This version was produced by Grahame Beggs.

A version by Australian group Peaches also charted locally at the same time, but was out-charted by the Clout track.
