Subaskaran Allirajah (born 2 March 1972), a Sri Lankan, is the Group Founder and Chairman of the Lycatel and Lycamobile Groups of companies. Lycamobile operates in 17 countries. In the 5 years since launch, Lycamobile has grown its subscriber base to over 12 million customers.[1]
In October 2011 Lycatel was ranked 36th in the Sunday Times 250 leading mid-market private companies.[2] Subaskaran also received a Gold award for Best Overall Enterprise in 2010 at the Asian Achievers Award ceremony for the impact he has made on the Asian community in the United Kingdom.[3] The Asian Voice Political and Public Life awarded Subaskaran in 2011 the "International Entrepreneur of the Year’ award.[4]
In 2012 the English Asian Business Awards presented Subaskaran with the "2011 Power Business of the Year" award, recognizing the growth of the Lycamobile business globally.[5] as well as the "Social Entrepreneur of the Year" award.[6]
