Stronghold is the name of a neighborhood in Northeast Washington, D.C. It is also called Metropolis View after the estate that originally occupied its area in the 1830s.

There are two different boundaries. A Washington Post article about the neighborhood said it is between Glenwood Cemetery on the east, Michigan Avenue to the north, North Capitol Street to the west and Bryant Street to the south, a total of 7 square blocks.[1]

Another boundary set is bounded by the Michigan Avenue to the north, Franklin Street to the south, 4th Street NE to the west, and the tracks for the Red Line of the Washington Metro to the east.

Stronghold is sandwiched between the campuses of two colleges: Trinity University, which lies west of 4th Street NE; and The Catholic University of America, which lies north of Michigan Avenue.
