Stojan Vranješ (Serbian Cyrillic: Стојан Врањеш) (born October 11, 1986 in Banja Luka, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays for Lechia Gdańsk. In international competition he represents Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the older brother of footballer Ognjen Vranješ.
Club career
Vojvodina
On February 6, 2013, Vranješ signed a two-year contract with Serbian giants FK Vojvodina.[1] He scored his first goal for Vojvodina in a 2-1 win against FK Smederevo on February 27, 2013. He scored an goal from distance in a 3-0 win against FK Donji Srem on March 19, 2013, which Donji Srem coach Bogić Bogićević dubbed a "euro-goal".[2]
International career
On May 31, 2012, Vranješ was at the center of a media storm for a mistake he made in a friendly match in Chicago against Mexico, which resulted in a last-minute goal for Mexico.[3]
