Stipe Perica (born 7 July 1995) is a Croatian football striker, currently playing for Udinese on loan from Chelsea.[1] He is also a Croatia under-21 international.

Club career

Early career

Perica started his career in his homecountry at Zadar in 2012. In his first season he scored 8 goals in 20 matches. He gained a transfer to English giants Chelsea.

NAC Breda

After his arrival at Chelsea, the club immediately loaned him out to Dutch club NAC Breda. He opted for NAC Breda because Nebojsa Gudelj is the coach at the club, who can speak with him. At NAC Breda he had a great start. In his first game, coming on as a substitute against Roda JC he scored his first in a 1-5 victory. A few weeks later he scored in his fourth appearance the winning goal against Heracles Almelo (2-1).[2] He became a fan favourite after just a few matches where he would come off the bench late in games and score despite playing limited minutes. His loan deal was extended for another season.[3] His loan was suddenly ended on 22 January 2015, as Perica is on his way to make a permanent move to Italian side Udinese.[4]

Udinese

After the sacking of Nebojša Gudelj, Perica's role was reduced to a bit-part player; requested a move in search for more game time. On 22 January 2015, his loan with NAC Breda ended and was moved to Udinese until June 2016.[5]

On 8 February 2015 against Napoli, Perica made his debut for Udinese, coming off the bench in the 78th minute for Bruno Fernandes.[6] On 1 March 2015 against Cesena, Perica came off the bench in the 84th minute, but was unable to prevent Udinese from losing 1-0.[7]

International career

Perica started his international career with the Croatian under-21 team. He played with the team at the under-20 World Cup. He was the youngest player in the Croatian squad and scored in a win over New Zealand.
