Stictoleptura rubra is a longhorn beetle often found in pines, firs and larches in its juvenile form.[2] Its gut contains cellulase-producing yeasts[3] to enable xylophagy, or wood-digestion.

Distribution

The species are found everywhere throughout European mainland, (except for Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, and Russia). It can also be found in Turkey.[4]
