"Sticky Dough" is a song performed by Brazilian recording artist Wanessa featuring American recording artist Brinn Nicole a.k.a. BamBam. It is the official lead single from Wanessa's seventh studio album DNA (2011). The song was released on July 5, 2011. It features production from DJ and producer Mr. Jam, who had worked with Wanessa in her previously album.[2] On June 20, 2011 a preview of the song was released.[3][4] The song is a mix of pop hit featuring dubstep, a part of house music known in Europe, and funk carioca.[5]

Critical reception

Pop Flop said that "Nobody ever really believed in the career of Wanessa", calling her career up there with "tacky", but that frizz "Sticky Dough" is amazing and reminded "Run the World (Girls) (by Beyoncé) referring to (slightly) to dubstep of Britney." The positive critical ends by saying "If before anyone gave anything for Wanessa, now it is (like it or not) a big bet on the Brazilian market," but adding that the credits and the potential of the song are all from the producers.[6]

"Sticky Dough" is a song originally recorded by Norwegian pop singer Carina Dahl, revealed by the music festival in Norway Rock Festival, also participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, where represented his country among others participants of Europe.[7] The song was recorded for her debut album, Hot Child, released on December 6, 2010,[8] but failed to integrate the track listing, which excluded the pre-selection and being dismissed only a demo track.

"Sticky Dough" was produced by production team Stargate, known for performing most of the singles as Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music", "Rude Boy", "Only Girl (In the World)", "What's My Name?" and "S&M", and "Irreplaceable" by Beyoncé, "Firework" and "Peacock" by Katy Perry and "Bye Bye" by Mariah Carey. The sample for "Sticky Dough" was used in "Dangerous", a song by South-Korean girl group f(x).[9]

Wanessa's 2011 "Sticky Dough" song sampled the first beats and verses from Dahl's unreleased 2010 song; however, it should be noted that the two songs strongly differ from each other after the first 30 seconds, both lyrically and melodically.
