Steven Fechter

Steven Fechter is an American playwright.[1][2] He is best known for his play, The Woodsman, which became a film starring Kevin Bacon.

Fetcher grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from SUNY-Binghamton.[2] He holds the PhD form the Graduate Theatre Program at Hunter College.[2]

Fetcher teaches screenwriting, film, and theater at John Jay College[3] and at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.[4][5]

Frecher's play,The Woodsman, was adapted for film with Nicole Kassell.[6][7] The screen play, co-written by Fechter and Kassell, won the Slamdance Film Festival screen play competition and premiered at Sundance.[6]
