Steve Ricchetti is Chief of Staff to U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Assistant to the President. He is the founder and former president of Richetti, Inc., a government relations firm.[1] Before founding Richetti, Inc., he served as White House Deputy Chief of Staff in the administration of President Bill Clinton.[2]
On March 5, 2012 he was appointed to be counselor to Vice President Joe Biden. This caused controversy due to President Obama's promise to not appoint lobbyists. [3] In November of 2013, it was announced that he would succeed Bruce Reed as Chief of Staff to the Vice President and Assistant to the President.[4]
