Steven Vincent Reed (born March 11, 1965) is a former relief pitcher in Major League Baseball.

Biography

Reed was born in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Chatsworth High School.[1] He played college baseball at Lewis-Clark State College, and played summer collegiate baseball for the Hazlet Elks[2] of the Saskatchewan Major Baseball League prior to playing in the majors.

Reed as signed by the San Francisco Giants as an amateur free agent in 1988.[3] A submarine-style pitcher, Reed has played for numerous baseball teams, including the Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Indians, the Atlanta Braves, to whom he was traded along with fellow relief pitcher Steve Karsay from Cleveland for former Major League Pitcher John Rocker in 2001, the New York Mets, San Diego Padres, and the San Francisco Giants.

His career stats are: 49 W, 44 L, 3.63 ERA, 18 S, 630 strikeouts, and 285 BB, in 833 games (870 innings).
