Steve Huffman (born November 12, 1983) is an American web developer and co-founder of the website reddit.[1] More recently, he co-founded the airfare search site Hipmunk.[2][3]
In 2005, Steve graduated from the University of Virginia with a computer science degree.[4] After graduating, he teamed up with classmate Alexis Ohanian to start reddit, which was initially funded by Y Combinator.[4] Reddit was later acquired by Conde Nast in 2006.[5]
Post-reddit
In 2010, Huffman teamed up with Adam Goldstein to create the travel site Hipmunk, with funding also from Y Combinator.[2][3] In 2011, Huffman was named to Inc. magazine's 30 under 30 list.[6] Huffman is also the instructor for "CS253: Web Development", an e-learning course that began on April 2012 offered by online education provider Udacity.[7]
