Steve Elliott is a fictional character on Petticoat Junction. Although not an original character, he became a rather popular figure with fans from his debut in 1966 until the show's cancellation.
Fictional overview
Steve, played by Mike Minor, enters the series in the second episode of season four. Originally thought to be a spy by Uncle Joe, he later becomes a welcomed addition to the Shady Rest Hotel clan. He originally shows interest in Kate Bradley's oldest/blonde-headed daughter, Billie Jo; however, he later comes involved with and eventually marries Betty Jo Bradley, Kate's youngest redheaded daughter, during the show's fifth season. During the sixth season he and Betty Jo have a baby, Kathy Jo. Not long after Steve and Betty Jo wed, they move out from the Shady Rest and set up a cottage halfway between Hooterville and Pixley. Upon moving there, Betty Jo gives birth to Kathy Jo. During the last season of production the two move back to the hotel.
