Steve Edwards is a Professor Emeritus at Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee, Florida. A native of Florida he graduated from Florida State University in 1952 with a BSc in Physics and Mathematics. Post graduate study for a MSc at FSU in 1954 and a PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1960 before Dr Edwards returned to FSU. Dr Edwards was a professor in the Department of Physics for more than 30 years. Dr Edwards also was Dean of the Faculties and Deputy Provost for more than 10 years, serving in those positions until his retirement in 2003.[1]

Steve Edwards was a colleague of Paul Dirac, a Nobel Prize winning research professor from Florida State University.
