Stephen Hollingshead

Stephen Hollingshead is a former adviser in the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Biography

Hollingshead attended Pearland High School in Pearland, Texas before dropping out at the age of 16. He went on to graduate from the University of Houston and Marquette University.^[1]

Career

From 1992 to 1995, Hollingshead was a member of the faculty at Marquette University, teaching courses in political science. In 1994, he was the Republican candidate for the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin's 5th congressional district.^[2] He would lose to incumbent Tom Barrett.

From 1999 to 2000, Hollingshead was Acting Executive Director of Americans For Fair Taxation. In 2002, he was named Headmaster of the Atonement Academy and remained in that position until 2005.

Hollingshead became Senior Adviser to the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in 2006. The following year he was named Senior Adviser to the Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Enforcement of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. He remained in that position until 2009, at which time he became COO of Americans for Prosperity.

In 2012, Hollingshead served as Chairman of Friends of Libya and was a member of Mitt Romney's transition team, the first pre-election government funded transition team in U.S. history.
