Stephanie Turner

Stephanie Turner (born 25th May 1944 in Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire, England) is an actress.

She is best known for the lead role of Inspector Jean Darblay in the first three series of the 1980s television BBC police drama Juliet Bravo (1980-82).[1] Prior to this, she had played Dennis Waterman's screen wife, Alison Carter, in early episodes of The Sweeney (1975) and WPC Howarth in Z-Cars (1972–75), which stood her in good stead for her role as Inspector Darblay. More recently she has taken regular roles in The Hello Girls and At Home with the Braithwaites. She also played a part in Sam. She also made an appearance in Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads.

Turner has never married. She retired from Acting in 2010, but occasionally teaches acting to students at Drama Schools in London where she lives, and has a part/half share in an Antiques Business in London.
