Stephanie M. Garcia Richard[2] is an American politician and a Democratic member of the New Mexico House of Representatives representing District 43 since January 15, 2013.
Education
Garcia Richard earned her BA in political science from Barnard College and her teaching certificate from University of California, Los Angeles.
Elections
- 2012 To challenge District 43 appointed Republican Representative James W. Hall, Garcia Richard was unopposed for the June 5, 2012 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,983 votes[3] and won the November 6, 2012 General election with 7,119 votes (51.2%) against Representative Hall.[4]
- 2010 To challenge District 43 incumbent Republican Representative Jeannette Wallace, Garcia Richard, as Stephanie M. Richard, ran in the June 1, 2010 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,299 votes (59.6%)[5] but lost the November 2, 2010 General election to Representative Wallace,[6] who served in the House from 1991 until her death in 2011.
