Stefano da Ferrara

Stefano da Ferrara, called Falzagalloni, was a Ferrarese, who lived in the latter half of the 15th century, and is described by Vasari as having been the friend of Mantegna. He filled the chapel of the Santo at Padua with frescoes, which were destroyed in 1500, in consequence of the renovation of the edifice by Andrea Briosco. In the Brera, Milan, are two Madonnas with Saints, that are assigned to him; and in San Giovanni in Monte, Bologna, is a Madonna and Child, with two Angels, considered to be by this artist. The dates of his birth and death are uncertain.
