Steerpike (band)

Steerpike were a band of small but relative merit in Norwich in the early 1990s, The band came into existence in 1992 gigged in the area and London, produced several demos and appeared performing "Acrobatic Man"on "Backwater One" a 12 inch single featuring 4 bands namely Ivy, Spellbound and The Lemongrowers on Noisebox Records, a Norwich label run by Pete Morgan, who is currently one third of Burning Shed. This resulted in radio plays on both the evening session with Mark Goodier and the John Peel show. The band also contributed "Hysteria" to "Now that's what I call Noisebox" a compilation of artists that had appeared on the Noisebox record label, and had interest from several record labels such as "dead good"

The Band eventually split in 1994, after various problems emerged within the line-up.

Richard Ringer subsequently moving on to form two later bands, Bluescript and Littlemink, Bluescript produced a number of recordings, Frognal Lane which appeared on Noisebox Records Backwater 4 CD, Melt which appeared Now that's what I call Noisebox, the line up featured

Richard Ringer - Guitars, keyboards Kate Dixon - Vocals Simon Clarke - Drums Dean Smith - Bass

The line up changed when singer Kate Dixon left to become a genius in the world of molecular genetics and was replaced by Jasmine Presley.

Littlemink was formed, with a core of three people:

Richard Ringer - guitar, keyboards, drum programming Kellie Siddle - vocals, keyboards, drum programming Emily Siddle - vocals

Littlemink produced an album, one of the first to be available throughdownload on the internet and a limited edition of CDs, also one track on Noisebox's 33& a 1/3 7" vinyl, plus various inclusions on Fanzine compilation CD's.

Littlemink still exists as a solo project and the name Ricard Ringer uses when recording and producing other bands.
