The category was introduced in 2010, at the 16th Star Awards ceremony; Jerry Yeo received the award for his role in The Ultimatum and it was given in honour of an actor or actress who portrayed a drama series villain that is deemed as the most unforgettable among the television audience. The nominees were determined entirely by the public via online voting; winner was also selected by a majority vote from the public via online voting as well.
