Stapleford, Wiltshire

Coordinates: 51°08′10″N 1°54′07″W / 51.136°N 1.902°W Stapleford is a village and civil parish about 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Wilton, Wiltshire, England. The village is on the River Till just above its confluence with the River Wylye. The 2001 census recorded a parish population of 265,[1] only decreasing to 264 at the 2011 census.[2]

The village is on the B3083 road, which joins the A36 road at the southern end of the village.

By the river Till to the north are the earthwork remains of Stapleford Castle, a medieval ringwork and bailey castle. It is also home to the historic St Mary's Church, of which much is of Norman origin. Other village amenities include a pub, called the Pelican Inn and a village hall, which was once a school. [3]
