Stan Rule (17 January 1924 – 12 August 2007)[1] was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Rule, a Victorian interstate representative in 1949, was used as both a follower and defender at Melbourne.[2] In their 1948 premiership team he was the former, while in 1946 he played from the back pocket in a losing Grand Final. He went to Wodonga in 1951, as captain-coach.[3]
