St Boniface College

St Boniface College is a private secondary school in the Kavango East Region of Namibia, situated 30 kilometres (19 mi) east of the regional capital Rundu. It is by a wide margin, and for over 10 years, the best senior secondary school in Namibia, frequently graduating learners that occupy the national Grade 12 top ten. Grade 10 results are also usually very good.[1][2]

St Boniface college is a Roman Catholic church boarding school founded in 1995. It teaches 300 pupils of grades eight to twelve. Its namesake is Bonifatius Hausiku, first Catholic bishop in Namibia and later archbishop.[1]

The success of the school is attributed to its principal, Mary Phillis Yesudasan, and the "iron rules" she enforced at the school. Learners are not allowed to engage in romantic relationships with each other, cell phones are forbidden for students and staff alike, girls have to keep their hair short in order not to waste much time on their hairdo. The discipline at the school is strict, and Yesudasan's leadership style has been described as "military".[1]
