St. Luke's Lifeworks presently Inspirica is a Nonprofit organization that provides housing and employment assistance to homeless families.

History

"St. Luke's Lifeworks" began as a program for homeless women and children that was sponsored by St. Luke's Chapel. In 1986, Rev. Richard L. Schuster joined the program as the executive director and it was renamed "St. Luke's Community Services." Schuster decided to change the program name to "St. Luke's Lifeworks" in 1997 until he passed in 2009.

Inspirica

On March 20, 2012, CEO Jason Shaplen officially changed the name of St. Luke's Lifeworks to "Inspirica."[1]

Inspirica (formerly St. Luke's Lifeworks) maintained a Board of Directors since 2011 and a CEO since 2009.

CEO

On January 25, 2012, Jason Shaplen became the first CEO of Inspirica. Raised in Asia for over 20 years, Shaplen has worked as a senior executive in Hong Kong and helped negotiate international agreements with North Korea.[2][3] Prior to Inspirica, Shaplen was the CEO of "Project Renewal" in New York City which assisted the homeless population with employment assistance. In 2006, Shaplen was able to replace Project Renewal's non-profit model with a for-profit model called "IMPRINT" with the assistance of Workforce Enterprises.[4] He is also a writer and specializes in developing and distributing press releases on international countries about topics that include North Korea's nuclear weapons program.[5][6]
