Sri Rangaraja Puram is a village and the headquarters of Sri Rangaraja Puram mandal, located in Chittoor district of India state of Andhra Pradesh.[2]

History

Historically this village was called Upparapalli but later became Srirangarajapuram. It is known by other names including S. R. R. Puram and S. R. Puram.

Transport

Frequent buses are available from Puttur 34 km or Chittoor 30 km away. The majority of the transport facilities are provided by APSRTC (KSRTC for Bangalore) and some private companies.

Politics

Assembly constituency

'Puttur' was an assembly constituency till 2008. After De-limitation, Puttur constituency was dissolved and merged with Nagari, Andhra Pradesh. Srirangarajapuram mandal is separated and merged with Gangadhara nellore. The current representative from 2009 election is - kuthuhalamma (Indian National Congress) .

Lok Sabha constituency

'Tirupati' was Lok Sabha constituency till 2008. After de-limitation, constituency was dissolved and Srirangarajapuram Mandal was merged with Chittoor (Lok Sabha constituency) current representative from 2009 election is Naramalli Sivaprasad from Telugu Desam Party.
