Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College is named after the first Guru of the Sikhs. The college is one of the constituent colleges of Delhi University and managed by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee. It imparts instruction up to post-graduate courses in Humanities and Commerce. Drawing inspiration from the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, the college helps its students to imbibe spiritual and moral values having universal acceptance. Originally known as Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa P. G. (Eve.) College for 32 years, it has now become a full-fledged morning college.

The college is in Karol Bagh, one of the leading and business commercial centres of Asia. It is surrounded by corporate offices of major industrial giants, foreign banks, finance corporations, export houses, foreign exchange dealers and leading hotels in places like Rajindra Place, Connaught Place, Jhandewalan and Karol Bagh. This provides an excellent opportunity for student-industry interaction.

Seminars and workshops are organised throughout the year. Prominent experts from academics, business and industry participate in these programmes. A special inter-college cultural festival is also held annually.

In sports, our students have been participated with outstandingly performance in various competitions of Gymnasium, Judo, Cricket, Handball etc and have achieved milestones in that. College bagged championships in badminton, judo, weightlifting athletic team and runners up in cricket and hockey in University of Delhi (200708). Basket Ball Champion Abhay Chopra from St. Michael School also completed his graduation from Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College in 2012.

Infrastructure

With the objective in view the state-of-the-art academic and extra-curricular infra-structure is provided to the students. The College has a Wifi enabled campus and classrooms well equipped with modern facilities. The college also has a state-of-the-art seminar room for academic seminars, discussion sessions and special lecture sessions.

College Library

The college library not only houses some 73366 books but also subscribes to more than fifty National & International Journals and Magazines. The library also subscribes to healthy number of research journals as desired by the different college departments from time to time. The Library is fully computerized and centrally air-conditioned. The Library also has Book Bank & Students' Aid Fund for lending textbooks to deserving students. The college has also installed LS Ease Software which helps in easy accessibility and faster service.

Computer Labs

The college has six state-of-the-art well equipped Computer Labs with 160 terminals. The labs are air conditioned and have projectors, interactive boards & LCD display panels for students to hone their skills. One lab with 80 computers is connected to University of Delhi server with 24 hours internet connectivity.

The College Placement Cell works actively in ensuring that the qualified students of the college are placed in well reputed companies. On-Campus placement sessions are held every year which have marked the placement drives being conducted by some of the reputed companies like Ernst & Young,KPMG, Royal Bank of Scotland, ICICI Bank, Genpact, AON Hewitt, IBM, South Indian Bank, Pheonix, University18 etc.
