Sqrrl Data, Inc. is an American enterprise software company specializing in Big Data analytics and cyber security founded in 2012. The company has gained publicity for its roots in the United States Intelligence Community and National Security Agency. [1] Sqrrl was involved in the creation of, and actively contributes to Apache Accumulo and other related Apache projects.[2]

Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, Sqrrl was founded by former computer scientists from the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA).[3]

In August 2012, Sqrrl announced a $2 million seed round led by Atlas Venture and Matrix Partners.[4]

In October 2013, Sqrrl received $5.2 million in Series A funding led by Atlas Venture and Matrix Partners.[5]

In February 2015, Sqrrl raised another $7.1 million in Series B funding for its Linked data analysis toolkit.[6]
