Spying on the Spys is a 7" Single by the band Portastatic. It was released on the Merge Records label in 1996.[1]
"Spying on the Spys" is a home recorded 4-track version that differs from the version on the The Nature of Sap LP. It was later released on the Some Small History compilation.
"Do You Want To Buy A Bridge?" is exclusive to this release. It was not included on Some Small History because Mac McCaughan found the song to be "embarrassing"[2]
According to the liner notes both tracks were "Recorded to 4-track cassette on Old North Carolina Highway 86."
The artwork is Artwork is "The Green Nude" by Herbert Gottesman.
