Spring Valley Wind Farm
Coordinates: 39°05′41″N 114°29′25″W / 39.0948555°N 114.4904137°W Spring Valley Wind Farm is Nevada's first wind farm and it utilizes 66 2.3 megawatts (3,100 hp) turbines opened on August 8, 2012. The farm is owned and operated by Pattern Energy. The 151.8 megawatts (203,600 hp) plant occupies 77 acres (31 ha) within the property which covers 7,673 acres (3,105 ha).[1][2][3][4][5]
Location
The facility is located about 30 miles (48 km) east of Ely, Nevada.
History
While initial approvals were received in 2006, construction began on June 15, 2011.[6]
