Spring Records

Spring Records was an American record label established in New York City in the late 1960s by Bill Spitalsky, Roy Rifkind and Julie Rifkind. The label name came from their surnames, "Sp" for Spitalsky and "ri" for Rifkind.[1] It was associated with the Polydor group.[2]

It primarily released soul and funk music,[3][4] and was described as "one of the most important soul labels of the 1970s".[1] The label released successful recordings by Millie Jackson, Joe Simon, The Fatback Band, Jocelyn Brown, Garland Green, and Paul Evans.[1][4][5]

Roy Rifkind and Julie Rifkind are the parents of Steve Rifkind, founder of Loud Records.
