Dicentrarchus punctatus, the Spotted seabass, is a species of temperate bass native to marine and brackish waters of the coastal eastern Atlantic Ocean from the English Channel to the Canary Islands and Senegal as well as through the Mediterranean Sea. It can be found at a depth of at least 30 metres (98 ft). This species can reach a length of 70 centimetres (28 in) TL though most are only around 30 centimetres (12 in). It is of minor importance to local commercial fisheries and is sought after as a game fish.[1]
