Sport Club Genus de Porto Velho, also known as Genus, are a Brazilian football team from Porto Velho, Rondônia. They competed in the Série C in 2001 and in the Série D in 2009 and in 2013.

History

Sport Club Genus de Porto Velho were founded on November 15, 1981 as Sport Club Genus Rondoniense.[1] Genus competed in the Série C in 2001,[2] and in the Série D in 2009, when they were eliminated in the second stage by São Raimundo.[3] The club were renamed to Sport Club Genus de Porto Velho in 2006.[1]

Stadium

Genus play their home games at Aluízio Ferreira.[2] The stadium has a maximum capacity of 7,000 people.[4]

Achievements

Women's team

Genus' women's team competed in the Copa do Brasil de Futebol Feminino in 2007, when they were eliminated in the Fourth Stage, and in 2008, when they were eliminated by Nilton Lins in the Second Stage.[5]
