Spencer-Penn School is a historic school complex located at Spencer, Henry County, Virginia. The original schoolhouse (non-contributing) was built in 1910, and is a three-room, frame building. In 1926-1927, a large Colonial Revival-style, brick structure was erected as the main school building, while the frame building remained in use for a number of years. It features a steeply pitched hip-and-valley roof. Additions to the main building were made in 1948, 1961, and 1965. A home economics cottage was added to the property in 1935. It is a frame structure on a brick foundation, with weatherboard cladding, a standing-seam tin gable roof, and a pedimented front porch supported by two pairs of square columns. The school complex closed in 2002.[3]
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.[1]
