Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System video game that was released in 1995 to an exclusively North American audience.

Summary

In a small Mexican village, all the mice were enjoying a fiesta until Los Gatos Bandidos, a group of cats, came and kidnapped them all.[4] Only Slowpoke escaped and sent for his cousin, the fastest mouse in Mexico... Speedy Gonzales![4] Speedy will enter each level and try to rescue as many mice as possible while chasing after cheese and avoiding natural hazards.[4] The gameplay in Speedy Gonzales resembles the Sonic the Hedgehog series of games.[4]

Players can access a short-range kick for attacking and can occasionally pick up items for usage at a later time in the game.[4] The game is full of bottomless pits; which kill players instantly.[5] Getting locked up in a cage also causes players to lose a life.[5] Spikes also have the ability to instantly kill the player.[5] Arch-enemies from the cartoon show such as Sylvester and Robocat will appear in this game.[6]

The game was reskined into the unauthorized Super NES video game Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (Super NES).[7]

Reception

Allgame gave the game a score of 2.5 out of a possible 5 points. The November 1995 issue of GamePro scored it a 2.5 out of 5.
