Spark is an Indian drama film directed and written by V. K. Singh, produced by Rekha Yadav & Naresh Gupta. The film stars Rajneesh Duggal and Shubhashree Ganguly in lead roles, with Govind Namdeo, Ashutosh Rana, Rohit Raj and Rati Agnihotri in supporting roles. The film was released on 2 October 2014.

Synopsis

The story is about a local Indian lad Arjun (Rajneesh Duggal) who falls in love with Anupama (Shubhashree Ganguly) while he is studying in Germany. They soon become passionate lovers willing to die for each other. But life takes a twist. Years ago, something happened in India, something incomplete was left behind, a game of deceit, which couldn't be completed without him. The Masters of the game (Govind Namdeo & Ashutosh Rana) play their game and bring him back to where it all started. Arjun finds himself in between the family feud and thinks that he is the 'Jack of the Game' but he is trapped and baffled. His every move was worked upon by the Masters and now he must rise above all to find his true love and uncover the truth behind all the hatred and enmity.

Production

V. K. Singh wanted to make a movie that would thrill the audience and keep them interested till the very end of the movie. When he started writing the script, he wasn't sure where it would land but once the script was completed and revised, it looked promising and worth working on.

Casting

Rajneesh Duggal was the first actor to be approached by V. K. Singh for the Movie. Singh was impressed by Rajniesh's action capabilities, having won season 5 of Khatron Ke Khiladi. He then approached Bengali Actress Subhasree Ganguly to play the role of Arjun Rajniesh's girlfriend Anupama. Once he was finished with the lead cast, he moved on to sign Ashutosh Rana, Govind Namdeo,Sanjay Mishra, Rati Agnihotri & Ranjeet. Other actors involved in the film are Manoj Joshi, Mansa Bahl & Rohit Raj.

Filming

Shooting of Spark began in MIT College, Pune, later moving on to Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad, Kamalistan Studio,Mumbai, Lonawala & Germany. In Germany the movie was shot at Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Heppenheim & Lorsch.

Promotion

The first look/theatrical trailer of the movie was released in front of the press and other media magnates at PVR Juhu (Andheri) on 21 July 2014. The event was organised by Slash Productions with Pixelsy Studios doing the online promotions for the movie. All actors, producers, directors and other members associated with the movie production were present at the event. The event was successful and Ranjeet made sure everyone was in jovial mood, by cracking jokes and unfolding amusing events of his media life.
