"Sowing Season" or, as listed on the single release, "Sowing Season (Yeah)", is a song by alternative rock band Brand New. It is the first single from their 2006 album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me. "Sowing Season (Yeah)" is also a playable track on Guitar Hero 5.

Details
- The song title "Sowing Season" is a reference to the novella Secret Window, Secret Garden by author Stephen King in which the character Mort has written a manuscript entitled "Sowing Season".
- Demo versions of "Sowing Season" and "Coca-Cola" were leaked along with other demos for The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me and were known as “Untitled 8” and “Untitled 3”, respectively.
- The second verse of "Sowing Season" is an allusion to the poem "If—" by Rudyard Kipling, as credited in the small insert in the single containing the liner notes. In the notes for "Sowing Season (Yeah)", it says "2nd verse adapted from 'If' by r. Kipling and how it used to hang from my father's wall." This is written from the perspective of Jesse Lacey.[1]
- "Coca-Cola", is listed on the single as, "aloC-acoC", due to the legal ramifications of using the popular soft drink's name as a song title.
- A line in "Coca-Cola" is taken from Elvis Presley's popular song "Hound Dog"; "I ain't nothin' but a hound dog."
- The line "bless your beautiful hide", is taken from a song in the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
- Sowing Season is included in Guitar Hero 5.
