Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center is a maximum security prison in Lancaster, in Worcester County, Massachusetts, in the United States. It lies close to the county line between Worcester County and Middlesex County, Massachusetts. MCI Shirley is just across that line, in Shirley, Massachusetts. The prison opened on September 30, 1998, and is one of the most high-tech correctional facilities in the United States.[1]
Inmates
- Former NFL football player Aaron Hernandez was convicted on April 15, 2015 of the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. Following sentencing, he was transferred to Souza-Baranowski to carry out his life sentence without possibility of parole.[2]

Although the prison is physically located in Lancaster, it gets its mail through a post office box in the nearby town of Shirley.
