The Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm football program was established in 2000. Their home games are played at Southern Nazarene University's McFarland Park Stadium.[1] In 2007 the Crimson Storm won their first home opener game. Since 2012, SNU has been competing in the NCAA's Division II Great American Conference.
The head coach and offensive coordinator for the Crimson Storm is Mike Cochran. Cochran's all-time record is 86-48 (40-36 at SNU). Other coaching staff include Craig Hubbard as the Defensive Coordinator, Jeremy Wirth as the Recruiting Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach, Steve Lykes as the Defensive Backs Coach Micah Anderson as the Outside Linebackers Coach, Clay Rhodes as the Tight Ends Coach, Eric Michael as the Running Backs and Special Teams Coach, Billy Sexton as the Strength Coach, and Jeff Seyfert as the Academic Coordinator.

20 Storm Named GAC All-Academic The Great American Conference released its fall all-academic team honorees General
Fall GAC Academic All-Conference RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Southern Nazarene University had 20 student-athletes named to the Great American Conference All-Academic team as the conference released its fall academic list.
The Crimson Storm football team led the way with nine honorees while women's soccer had five. Volleyball had four and women's cross country had two. Hunter Baskett, William Bigsby, Mickey Demarzo, Anderson Depee, Will House, Alec Laffoon, John Page, Mark Roll and Conner Svajda of football all earned the honor. Women's soccer had Alyssa Glitzke, Taylor Jester, Stephanie Ledgerwood and Bekah Stewart. Volleyball had Abbey Bell, Emily Dick, Taylor Jacobs and Kaylee Piatt and women's cross country had Megan Johnson and Laura Loftin.
The league office announced that 219 student-athletes achieved Academic All-Conference honors in the sports of football, volleyball, women's soccer and men's and women's cross country.
Harding led with 39 of its student-athletes earning GAC Academic All-Conference, best among the 11 league institutions. The Bisons posted the highest number of All-Academic selections in both men's and women's cross country. HU also placed 11 football student-athletes on the All-Academic team, the second-highest total in the conference.
GAC football student-athletes garnered the most All-Academic selections, 63, followed by 43 from volleyball and 42 in women's soccer. Southwestern Oklahoma State boasted 15 All-Academic honorees in football to lead the conference. In women's soccer, East Central paced the GAC with 11 Academic All-GAC choices and Ouachita Baptist produced the highest count of All-Academic selections in volleyball with seven.
For student-athletes to be recognized on the Academic All-Conference team, they must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing (true freshmen and redshirt freshmen are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at the nominating institution. In addition, their grade-point average must be a minimum of 3.30 based on the 4.0 system. The GPA shall be cumulative for the athlete's entire collegiate career.
