The southern Appalachian salamander (Plethodon teyahalee) is a species of salamander in the family Plethodontidae. It is endemic to the southeastern United States, where it is found in the southern Appalachian Mountains of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.[1] The salamander's altitudinal range extends to 1,550 m.[1]
Its natural habitat is temperate forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
