Education

Southbrook has one primary school and one state-integrated area school.

Southbrook School is a state co-educational full primary school with a roll of 348 students (as of March 2015).[2] The school opened in 1874, and the current principal is Shane Fletcher.

Rangiora New Life School is a state-integrated co-educational full primary school. It was established in the 1970s originally as a primary and intermediate non-denominational Christian 'co-ed' school, but was later expanded to include a secondary school built across the Southbrook Stream from the original primary school. Originally a private school, it integrated into the state education system in March 1994.[3] It has a roll of over 300 students, many of whom are not of religious conviction (the school having a policy of acceptance towards personal religion). It is notable for its high success rate of students passing their respective NCEA qualifications. In 2010, all Year 11 students at the school passed their NCEA Level 1 standards, the highest pass rate in New Zealand.[4]
